Christine Tyree of Rocky Mount, VA died on February 3, 2002 after an extended illness. Mrs. Tyree was well known along with her late husband, Walter, on the horse show circuit in Virginia and North Carolina in the 60s and 70s and early 80s. Mrs. Tyree was an avid walking horse fan and supporter and her family are often asked about her by those who knew her. Mrs. Tyree is survived by two daughters Rebecca McCall and Brenda Tyree both of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by grandsons Billy McCall and wife Linda of Roanoke, VA, Todd Carter and wife Tammy of Rocky Mount, and Sterling Carter of Vinton, VA., one granddaughter Cindy Cundiff and husband Barry of Glade Hill, VA., 10 great grand children and two step grandchildren many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held February 5, 2002 in Rocky Mount with interment at the family cemetery.
