Debbie Myers, age 67, of the Flat Creek Community, died Thursday, January 15, 2009, at her home after a five year battle with ovarian cancer.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Steve Murphree will officiate, with burial to follow in Rose Bank Cemetery in Flat Creek.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

She was born December 21, 1942, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late James J. and Ethel Mae Brady Doherty.  She was owner and chief manager of Gates Development, LLC, a homemaker, and owner, breeder, trainer, and exhibitor of Tennessee Walking Horses for over 37 years.  She was a true animal lover.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jim Myers, of the Flat Creek Community; six children, James (Lynn) Myers, Jr. of Huntington Harbor, California, Julie (John) Bruun, of California, Michael (Erin) Myers, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ali (Tom) Carter, of Atlanta, Georgia, Felippe (Gabriella) Marques, of Los Angeles, California, and Dr. Andrew (Blair) Myers, of Birmingham, Alabama; ten grandchildren.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
