Elizabeth Dalton Umberger
November 26, 1991 - March 21,2009
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Umberger, 17, of Olive Branch, passed away on Saturday evening, March 21, 2009 at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Olive Branch, was a junior at Desoto Central High School, member of Mississippi Walking Horse Assn., Mid-South Walking Horse Assn., Walking Horse Owners Assn., TN Walking Horse Breeder and Exhibitor’s Assn. and received the Mississippi Walking Horse Assn. Person of the Year award in 2008.
She is survived by her father, Michael Umberger and his wife, Kathy; sister, Erika Umberger; brothers, Justin Wheeler and Andrew Herrington; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Warren; and great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mario Belluscio, all of Olive Branch. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kim Umberger,grandfather, Lee Hutchison and a grandmother, Gertrude Umberger.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday evening, March 24, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Olive Branch at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 with interment to follow in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
The family prefers memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Lizzie’s memory.
