Obituary-William Crutchfield
William Glen Crutchfield, born Oct. 7, 1934, died peacefully April 1, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. Crutchfield was a long time horse owner and Celebration cooperate sponsor.
Known to many as Crutch, he was a veteran of the United States Army. From a family farm in Martin, Tenn., Crutchfield became synonymous with Memphis’s Dobbs Ford dealerships. He always found peace in and time for working his dogs, showing Tennessee Walking Horses and raising cattle.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virgie, and their four daughters and three sons-in-laws; Cindy White, Patty and Jimmy Rotenberry, Candie and Steve Butler, and Beth and Stephen Stone; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Joy Adams and Linda Russell.
Visitation for Mr. Crutchfield will be held Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Memphis Funeral home from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 2 p.m.
The family requests memorials be sent to Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN.
