James Larry Rea, 61, of Houston, MS, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at U.A.B. Medical Center - Birmingham in Birmingham, AL.
He was born January 22, 1948 in Aberdeen to Louria O'Neal Rea and Mildred Earline Brown Rea.
He was a retired road construction worker and attended Fairview Church of God of Prophecy. He was a long time owner of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
The body will lie-in-state Saturday at Hamilton Church of God of Prophecy in Hamilton, MS beginning at 12:00 noon until the 2:000 p.m. service time. Rev. Billy Adams, Rev. Sherman Adams and Rev. Wayne Thorn will be officiating. Burial will follow at McDuffie Cemetery in Hamilton.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Earline Rea of Houston; his daughter, Tammy Rivers (Jim) of Thomson, GA; his son, Juston Rea (Mary Jon) of Houston; his sisters, Patricia Winter Eubank (Kye) of Houston, Gail Johnson (Dennis) of Warrenton, GA, Charlotte Adams (Billy) of Macon, GA, his brother Wayne Rea (Joyce) of Houston; his grandchildren, Cassidy Rea, Kristin Rivers and Austin Rivers; the mother of his children, Barbara Kilgo Rea; and his companion, Carrie Alice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louria O'Neal Rea and his brother, Louis Rea, Jr.
Pallbearers are Louis Rea, Seth Adams, Austin Rivers, Brian Winter, Dewayne Winter, Caleb Adams, Chad Johnson, Clint Johnson. Honorary pallbearer is Ken Gann.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Houston Funeral Home.
