Mitchell Scott Green, 52, of Bishop, Georgia passed away on January 16, 2023. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Scott is survived by his wife, Dr. Meg Green; daughter, Taylor Green; parents Norma Charlene Dunn Green McGill and John Willis Green, Jr. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, David Green (Angela), Kyle Green (Heather), Chad Groover, Mike McGill (Katy); nieces and nephews, Price and Jase Green, Payton and Parker Ann Groover, C.J and Gavin Joyner.
Scott was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, a competitive round of golf or spending time on the farm with his beloved horses. Scott had a vast array of work experiences in his career. Though he completed his education at North Georgia College with a degree in Computer Science, he began as a horse trainer and farrier which is how he met Meg and their shared love of horses only brought them closer. As Scott built a family, his career shifted to technology where he worked for Microsoft & M-Tech Systems working on custom software development for the poultry industry. Most recently, he felt drawn to the real estate world and had much success with providing appraisals and working as a real estate agent with Cozart Realty. His intelligence and his kindness were well balanced with his quick wit and colorful humor.
Scott found a way to spend intentional time with everyone in his circle. He would drop everything at a moment’s notice to help someone in need. This was especially evident in his service with Lydia’s Place where he, Meg, and Taylor spent the year of COVID and beyond transforming a warehouse space into a Boutique that Scott lovingly referred to as Transformation Station.
Scott himself had a way of transforming people whether it was in service or friendship. He made everyone feel as though they were truly important and lifted those around him with insightful advice, personal jokes and infectious laughter. Scott’s sincerity and zest for life made him a pleasant, steady, and joyful presence in so many people’s lives. He loved fully, and this was evident in his love for his family, friends and the great outdoors. Scott had an enormous heart and his greatest joy was the family time spent with Meg and Taylor.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church, 1331 New High Shoals Road, Watkinsville, GA at 11:00 am followed by a graveside service at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA and all are invited to join, we are asking all in attendance to wear red and black.
