Obituary - The Silversmith
Friday, November 30, 2012
The Silversmith owned by Bob and Edna Black was laid to rest due to colic complications on November 17, 2012 at the Bill Reel Stables in Broadway, VA.
The Silversmith “Possum” was showed through out the Eastern show circuit. He was known for his beautiful silver-white color and flowing white tail. He was sired by WGC Silver Design. He was born, raised by the Black family and spent his whole life and show career under the direction of Bill Reel.
Possum won multiple ribbons and high point awards in his show career. Bob Black was the main exhibitor of The Silversmith, but over the years multiple catch riders had the opportunity to exhibit him in Amateur and Open classes. He will be sadly missed by his owners, stable mates and fans.
