Obituary–Charles A. Barnes

Charles A. Barnes, 73, of Sabina, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Barnes was born June 6, 1936, in Albany, Ky., the son of the late Sam and Adele Davis Barnes. He retired from the McCall Printing Co as a printer. He was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and loved Tennessee Walking Horses.
Barnes was a member of the Sabina Masonic Lodge and served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hall Barnes, whom he married May 30, 1958; sons, Douglas Allen Barnes of Bell Buckle, Tenn., Mark Thomas (Robin) Barnes of Hillsboro, Ky., and Brian Lee (Julie) Barnes of Bowersville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Mark Jr., Kelsey, Hannah, Jesse and Brian Lee; and one great grandchild, Carson. He was preceded in death by sister Kathleen and two brothers Lyle and Tom.
The Barnes family have been involved in the horse business for many years. His son, Doug Barnes, is a horse trainer and son Mark Barnes is a farrier in the walking horse industry.
