Owners' Meeting Set for Saturday of Fun Show
Tuesday, May 24, 2016
The Celebration, at the recommendation of its Leadership Council, will host an Owners’ Meeting in the Blue Ribbon Circle club on its show grounds prior to the start of the Saturday performance of the Spring Fun Show. The meeting will be held on Saturday May 28, 2016 at 5:00PM CST.
The meeting is being held to update owners in the Walking Horse industry on the recent Rulemaking sent to the Office of Management and Budget by the United States Department of Agriculture. The Rulemaking would dramatically change the system of inspection, the allowed equipment used by Tennessee Walking Horses and the requirements of show management.
The industry will need to send comments regarding the Rulemaking and its effects on the show horse industry. The Celebration will submit comments and has recently met with its Leadership Council regarding the options for submitting those comments. Representatives from the Leadership Council as well as representatives from the industry’s lobbying groups will be in attendance to brief the owners on the current status and answer any questions.
Owners, trainers, breeders, state associations, horse shows, Horse Industry Organizations and any other interested party to the Tennessee Walking Horse will need to submit their comments during the comment period after the new rule is published.
