BAILEYTON, Tenn. - The 26th annual Baileyton Horse Show was held at the Baileyton Elementary School on July 26, 2008. The hosts for this wonderful show were the Baileyton Rutitan Club and the United Volunteer Fire Department. The show manager was R.B. Barkley Jr. and his supportive wife, Cora Sue. For years these clubs have helped, supported and enabled the disadvantaged in the community. The show ring was in the middle of the ball field with trucks and horse trailers packed side-by-side to lining the outfield and the sides of the school. Stands are always packed, with chairs lined up tight, and parking overflowing to adjoining hay fields.

There were 32 classes offered in the walking and URHOAE racking divisions. Bud White from Dublin, Va., was the walking judge and Tim Taler from Red Gate, W.Va., judged the racking classes.

Taking top honors in the Walking Horse Stake class was Prowler's Night Deposit with Keith Ailshie in the irons. They delivered the blue in championship style for fans and proud owners the Tiptons from Green Mountain, N.C. Reserve in the class went to Jewel's Choice with Phil Snodgrass aboard for Mike Spivey.
