Show ring champion San Juan was humanely laid to rest today at the age of 14. He lost his battle with a bout of colic that he suffered from in March.

He was owned by Eric and Diane Lackey and they said the following of their beloved San Juan.

To coin the phrase a horse of a lifetime does not really do him justice. He was an ambassador of our breed, showing successfully for 12 years, winning 4 world championships, 1 reserve world grand championship and 8 reserve world championships. His last being in 2013 (at the Tunica Fall Classic). A true show horse, he was his best in the show ring. But to Diane and I, he was just as special out of the ring, with a loving personality bigger than he was. His memory and spirit will forever live in our hearts. Thanks to all who was a part of this career, particularly David Landrum, Joe Cotten and Tim Smith. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers.
