GUNTOWN, Miss. - The 46th annual Guntown Walking Horse Show was held on June 7, 2008, at the Guntown City Park in Guntown, Miss. The Guntown Lions Club are the proud sponsors of the show. The show has the distinction of being the “Oldest One Night Show in Mississippi”. Proceeds from the show benefit the club’s many projects, which include sight conservation, youth services, work with the blind, community services, environmental services and international relations.

Once again, Doug Farley, show chairman and the dedicated Lions Club show committee members did an outstanding job of coordinating a successful event with fun-filled entertainment provided by the many talented contenders that performed at Guntown. Wendell Kirkpatrick judged the 34 classes.

In the WHTA Rider’s Cup Walking Horse Stake, Smooth Like JFK and Ray Gilmer claimed the Guntown Lions Club tricolor ribbon on the heels of their recent Nettleton Lions Club stake title for owners Joseph and Betty Clark.
