Terry Vaught, an amateur/owner/trainer, was questioned Friday night at the International Grand Championship Horse Show, where he allegedly had a Tennessee Walking Horse on “blocks” in an attempt to sore him prior to the competition. USDA VMOs were present for inspections at the International on Friday evening, and a USDA VMO apparently found the horse back in the barn area with duct tape wrapped around his feet.
The USDA VMO along with NHSC Lonnie Messick asked Vaught to remove the tape where they found the blocks. Vaught was given a ticket for pressure shoeing and started his suspension immediately which consists of two years and a $1,200 fine.
