Tim Thompson Killed In Wreck

Janet and Jordan Howell with Tim Thompson following CHA CHA CHA's 2007 World Championship.

The Report learned last night of the tragic passing of walking horse trainer, Tim Thompson.

According to WKRN, the crash happened on Highway 96 near Fox Ridge Road, in Almaville, Tenn. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 52-year-old George "Tim" Thompson, of Murfreesboro, was killed when his GMC Terrain was struck head-on by Judson McGuire, 64.

The THP reported McGuire was traveling westbound on Highway 96 in a Dodge Dakota when he attempted to stop behind a vehicle that was turning onto Fox Ridge Road.

Rather than stopping, McGuire reportedly swerved into the eastbound lanes and crashed into Thompson’s vehicle.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. In the above photo Janet and Jordan Howell along with Thompson are with beloved mare, CHA CHA CHA. Thompson had been on "mare watch" and was on his way back to the barn. CHA CHA CHA is due at any time with her first foal by Jose' Jose'.

Once arrangements are made available we will update.
