Turmoil and London Rain Didn’t Detour Chunn's Cove Horse Show

by Maggi Painter

FLETCHER, N.C. - The Chunn's Cove Horse Show was held on March 21-22, 2009, at the Western North Carolina Agriculture Center in Fletcher, N.C. Featuring 63 walking and racking horse classes, Robin Strain of Athens, Ala., judged this year’s event.

Despite the turmoil in the walking horse industry, the Chunn's Cove Horse Show went off without a hitch. The show had 252 entries during the two nights. Despite being told to wait to show their horses until everything got settled, the trainers who did bring their horses presented them very well.

Seven top entries entered the gate in the final class on Saturday night. London Rain and Derek Bonner left the ring with the floral horse show and tricolor for the Mozeley family of Charlotte, N.C. This was the second blue of the show for London Rain. Meghan Mozeley showed him to the blue in the Amateur Adult Pony class on Friday night.
