Versatility On Display During The Celebration
Tuesday, August 25, 2009
SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - In a effort to showcase the versatility of the Tennessee Walking Horse, The Celebration(r) is proud to announce that two separate demonstrations have been scheduled to take place prior to the evening performances. Both demonstrations will take place in the "Whittlin' Tree Ring" adjacent to the Blue Ribbon Circle and are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The first demonstration will take place on Saturday August 29th. The horse being showcased is Clever Debutante, a 3-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse that was named the Walking Horse Owner's Association's Pleasure Horse of the Year in 2008. In conjunction with All Youth Day that day, brother and sister team, Hunter and Mackenzie Morgan, will demonstrate the Tennessee walking horse's versatility in gaming classes. Come watch as Hunter and Mackenzie perform in pole bending, barrel racing, water glass and much more. Then on Wednesday, September 2nd, come see something entirely different when local trainer Laurie Toone demonstrates what some have called "The Foundation of Versatility" - reining. This basic of versatility demonstration will give onlookers some of the fundamentals to getting started with your horse in various aspects of versatility.
Celebration CEO Dr. Doyle Meadows stated "We are pleased to start this demonstration program in conjunction with The Celebration(r). We want to thank Bill and Sandra Cody for providing their horse, Clever Debutante, and for Laurie Toone and Hunter and Mackenzie Morgan for helping put on these demonstrations."
