KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – In what has now become a tradition for Jimmy McConnell and William and Sandra Johnson, along with a homecoming tradition for the University of Tennessee, 2009 World Grand Champion Watch It Now exhibited in front of over 95,000 fans on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. McConnell guided previous World Grand Champions The Black Night Shade and Master Of Jazz around Neyland Stadium and He’s Puttin’ On The Ritz exhibited three times on homecoming Saturday in Knoxville.
The University of Tennessee Veterinarian School and Athletics Board member David Howard hosted the 2009 World Grand Champion. McConnell, along with over 25 family, friends and guests, enjoyed the weekend of activities hosted by the university. McConnell and popular assistant Dan Waddell took turns making practice laps on Friday afternoon and Watch It Now also got an “extra” practice with Vicki Self in the irons.
On Saturday, in front of the homecoming crowd, Watch It Now impressed the fans and brought them to their feet when McConnell shook the orange and white shaker.
