Hawks-Abernathy Wedding
Lauren Hawks and Joseph Abernathy were married on March 1 at The Victorian Gardens Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn. at 5:00 P.M. The reception followed at the Smokey Mountain Lodge. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Hard Rock Café.
Many walking horse enthusiasts made the trip to Gatlinburg to be in the wedding and to watch the ceremony. Bridesmaids included Kari Tisma, Katie Moore and Britt Barnett. Groomsmen included James Abernathy, Edgar Abernathy, Chad Way, Adam Johnson, James Benton Pendleton, and Red Umberger.
The bride is the daughter of Dale Hawks of Memphis, Tenn. and Sherrye Hawks of Olive Branch, Miss. The groom is the son of Ed Abernathy and Patti Abernathy, both of Shannon, Miss. Both families have been involved with walking horses for many years.
The couple now resides in Olive Branch, Miss. along with their six month old son, Cohen Chase Abernathy.
