CHUCKEY, Tenn. - On Saturday evening, April 25, 2009, more than 200 walking and racking contenders made the East Tennessee trek to the South Central Ruritan Horse Show Grounds in Chuckey, Tenn., to compete for top honors. Don Campbell made the drive down from Kentucky to evaluate the walking classes. Mark Copas served as ringmaster and the talented Natasha Douglas captured those great action shots from center ring.
Eight contenders answered the gate call to vie for the Open Walking Stake Specialty floral horseshoe. When the winner was called to center ring, it was the team of Larry Wheelon and the fancy Sweeping Up The Cash who took the honors for Vicki Koger and Linda Wheelon. Reserve in the class went to Beam’s Shaker and Brent Coburn for Nat Campbell. You’re The Man and Wayne Conley took the third place slot for Ralph and Shari Winburn.
