WHTA Votes Unanimously In Favor Of One HIO
Tuesday, February 19, 2013
The Walking Horse Trainers' Association (WHTA) voted unanimously yesterday to support and form a Performance Horse Council, that will encompass one HIO, one rulebook and one voice in support of the performance Tennessee Walking Horse. The WHTA hosted members of KYHIO, Heart of America, PRIDE and SHOW at their meeting along with a representative from Tennessee Walking Show Horse Organization (TWSHO). The new board will consist of two members each from WHTA, HOA, KY, PRIDE, SHOW, TWSHO and three independent representatives.
As part of the new Performance Horse Council, inspections will be overseen by an independent veterinarian panel and there will be a unified list of judges and DQPs. These judges and DQPs will be trained together. An official statement from the WHTA will be forthcoming today.
