DiMaggio was purchased as a two-year-old by Backward S Ranch and the Sherman family. He was later sold as a three-year-old to Holland and Kilgore, and went on to win the Three-Year-Old World Grand Championship and the Three-Year-Old Stallion World Championship with Billy Young.

DiMaggio won three world championships with Alexandria Holland and a reserve world championship with Larry George.

In July of 2015, DiMaggio was purchased by the Louis Judd Family of Campbellsville, Kentucky where he remained under the direction of Backward S Ranch. He won numerous blues with both Louis Judd and Larry George. DiMaggio was laid to rest in his final resting place, in the middle of the riding ring at Backward S Ranch in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
