Edna "Polly" (nee: Barlett) Stout, age 79 of Painesville passed away May 6, 2022, at Tripoint Medical Center. Born March 5, 1943, in Painesville to Emerson and Marvel (nee: Jones) Barlett. At 5 years old she was training her first pony and building a small barn. In 4-H she loved competing at the Lake County Fair every summer. Growing up she apprenticed under Sam Paschal, a well-known Tennessee Walking Horse trainer in Tennessee. She opened Polly Stout Stables in Ohio and for 50 years she lived her dream successfully training and showing horses all over the country. She became well known and liked in the industry. Many customers became her good friends. Polly was a founding member of the Buckeye Walking Horse Association and longtime board member and vice president of the Walking Horse Association of Ohio. Her favorite place to visit was Shelbyville Tennessee home of the TWH National Celebration where she successfully showed. Her favorite places in Tennessee to enjoy southern cooking were Miss Mary Bobo's and The Bell Buckle Cafe'. Following in her husband's footsteps she began flea marketing and attending auctions in her spare time. Along with her good friend, Kathie, she sold antiques and collectibles at their two booths at the Shops By The Lake. Survivors include her beloved friend, Kathie Waltz; cousin Donna Shelly; in-laws Bob (Janet) Stout, Iona Craig, Linda Barbe and Joanne Meadows and nephew Bobby Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Farrell "Lee" Stout, her parents and aunts Maggie Dyke and Pauline Jones. A funeral service will be 11am on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the church she loved, Kirtland Community of Christ 9017 Chillicothe Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094 with burial to follow at the south Kirtland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes 1009 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH 44077.
