Obituary – Scott Benham

The Walking Horse Report has recently learned of the passing of former trainer and long time horse enthusiast Scott Benham. Benham passed away on September 1, 2023 in California. Benham was the trainer for many years at Golden West Farm in California and was known for his training with World Grand Champion, Pusher’s Big Score. Some other noteable horses that Benham trained included Coin’s Triple Play, Pride’s Good As Gold and Double Java, to name a few. The family is planning a celebration of life in November. A complete obituary will follow as it becomes available.

Gene D. Jordan, age 91 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away peacefully, May 11, 2024 at the farm he was born and raised on. Gene graduated from Walter Hill High School and then farmed with his Father and later worked as a Master Farrier for thirty-eight years in the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry.
