Three in a row for Versace’s Dollar

The Blue Moon of Tennessee shined on over the 85th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration on a near perfect evening for the 13-class schedule on the second Wednesday. Announcer’s assistant Margaret Eakin explained to ring announcer Mark Farrar that a blue moon is the second full moon of a month, and is a rare occurrence as it rose above the East side of “The Big Oval”.

It was a three-peat for Blacklist

The old saying is “red skies at night, sailor’s delight.” Tuesday night at the 85th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration with 13 classes scheduled to compete, that red sky, an indication of fair weather, was almost completely obscured by dark gray rain clouds.

Finally! Cooler temps close out morning sessions

While it may seem like it was only yesterday that the 85th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration kicked off in Cooper Steel Arena, here we were back in Cooper Steel Arena at the Monday morning session; the final morning session of the show. The schedule featured 13 classes from trail pleasure, weanling, lite-shod, country pleasure and park pleasure divisions, along with the final equitation class of the show.

Equine Obituary – Sam I Am Jose'

On Thursday, August 17, 2023, two-time World Grand Champion and two-time World Champion, Sam I Am Jose, passed away from sepsis after undergoing emergency colic surgery just ten days before he was scheduled to compete for World Championship honors in the Four-Year-Old Stallions division at the 2023 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
